About House Spouse

What is House Spouse?+
House Spouse is a home maintenance, handyman, and concierge home care brand serving Snohomish County and the greater Seattle area. Licensed, bonded, insured.
Are you a home inspector?+
No. We are not licensed home inspectors and never use that term. Our Home Health Assessment is a visual, non-invasive maintenance review built to help you understand your home and plan ahead. It is not a home inspection, code compliance inspection, engineering evaluation, or specialty trade inspection. See our full Disclaimers page for details.
What are the limits of a Home Health Assessment?+
Assessments are visual and non-invasive. We do not perform technical evaluations requiring specialized licensing — electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, structural engineers, roof or pest inspectors. If we see something that warrants further evaluation, we recommend the appropriate licensed professional. Full disclaimer on our Disclaimers page.

Home Health Assessment

What is the Home Health Assessment?+
A $499 visual walkthrough of your home where we document condition, flag issues, and build a 12-month maintenance roadmap. The fee is credited toward an Executive HomeCare+ membership within 30 days.
How long does it take?+
Most assessments run 3 to 4 hours on site, with the written Home Health Report delivered within a few business days. See a sample report.
What does the report include?+
Photo documentation of every room and system, written findings, priorities ranked by urgency, and a 12-month maintenance roadmap. You also get access to your private Home Health Record online.

Memberships

What is HomeCare+?+
HomeCare+ is our subscription home care service. Members get scheduled visits, our member labor rate, priority scheduling, and waived service-call fees. See all three tiers: Essentials, Executive, and Estate.
Do I have to be a member?+
No. You can book a one-off handyman job, repair, or even just the Assessment without a membership.

Services & Scheduling

What services do you offer?+
Handyman work, repairs, installs, painting, deck and fence repair, drywall, tile and grout, aging-in-place upgrades, and full remodels. See the full list of services.
Where do you work?+
Snohomish County, the Eastside, and Seattle. See every city we serve.
How fast can you get out for a repair?+
Non-emergencies usually scheduled within a week. HomeCare+ members get priority. Active water leaks and emergencies are triaged same-day where possible.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes. House Spouse is fully licensed, bonded, and insured in Washington State. Every employee also passes a background check before entering a client's home. Learn more about us.
Do your employees get background checks?+
Yes. Every House Spouse employee passes a background check before they're allowed in a client's home. Your safety and peace of mind come first.
How do you charge for handyman work?+
Handyman visits start at a $580 minimum service visit + materials, which includes up to four hours of labor on-site. After that, additional labor is billed at $145/hr according to the written estimate you approve before any extra work or materials are purchased. A flat $99 trip charge covers drive time and diagnostics — waived for HomeCare+ members, who also skip the minimum and book from $115/hr. Every job is covered by our 12-month workmanship warranty.
Can I bundle multiple small jobs into one visit?+
Yes — and you should. The $580 minimum service visit includes up to four hours of labor, so bundling small tasks is the best way to get value. Typical bundles that fit inside a minimum visit: replace two light fixtures, swap a garbage disposal, install three ceiling fans, or knock out a homeowner punch list. Materials are billed separately.
