Permits

Common questions

Composite vs pressure-treated — which do you recommend?

Composite (Trex / TimberTech) for near-zero maintenance and 25-year color warranties. PT for lowest cost with annual staining.

Do I need a permit for my deck?

In most WA cities, yes — anything over 30" above grade. We pull it as part of the project.

How long will my new deck last?

Composite framing + composite decking: 25+ years. PT framing + composite decking: 20+ years. All-PT: 15–20 with annual maintenance.
